What Can Medical Dermatology Do for Me?

What is Mohs Surgery?
Mohs surgery is a surprisingly old and highly effective treatment for skin cancer. Developed in the 1930s by Dr. Frederic Mohs, it has an extremely high success rate.
Mohs surgery is an outpatient medical dermatology procedure in which the visible part of the cancer is removed along with a margin of apparently healthy tissue. The tissue is then examined under a microscope, taking note of any cancer cells. If cancer cells are found in the margin, another tissue sample is taken. The process is repeated until there is a tissue sample with no cancer cells.
Treating Acne
There are several different types of acne, and they vary in severity. Therefore, our board-certified dermatologist will recommend a treatment that is most appropriate for the patient’s case. Acne treatment is not one-size-fits-all, and we offer a number of treatments at Dermatology Center of the Rockies.
Professional Psoriasis Treatments
There is so far no cure for psoriasis, but it can be controlled through the right medical dermatology treatments. There are many treatment options, and our dermatologist will make sure to choose one depending on the type of psoriasis, its severity, and the body parts affected, among other factors. We can treat anything from mild and moderate psoriasis to severe or resistant cases.
