Restylane – Frequently Asked Questions
- Posted on: Nov 13 2019
The Restylane® family of products is a brand of dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid. The products within this family are available at Dermatology Center of the Rockies. Each product looks like a clear gel and works as your body’s own hyaluronic acid, and each comes with its own purpose of use.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are treatments injected into the face to help plump and smooth out areas where wrinkles are. Volume and fullness are the goals of the treatment. Not all dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid, but all Restylane® products are made with this natural component. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in the body that helps with hydration and elasticity of the skin.
How Long Does a Treatment take?
Most visitors that come in to receive the treatment will only be receiving the injections for mere minutes. They see immediately the results from the treatment. The body uses the hyaluronic acid as if it was its own to firm the skin.
What Causes Wrinkles to Happen?
There are many reasons for wrinkles to happen. Skin ages when we get into our 20s and beyond. Many outside factors, such as smoking, sun exposure, and stress, can contribute to faster aging in the face for many. Internal factors for wrinkles are due to aging.
How Long Do the Results Last?
Restylane® is a longer lasting dermal filler treatment that reduces fine lines and wrinkles for up to 18 months. However, every person is different, and each person may see different results.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Again, every person is different. One person may need three treatments while another needs just one. It is important to speak with our specialist to determine the best treatment plan for your specific needs.
