- Remove makeup every evening.
Make a vow not to sleep with makeup at night. Wash your skin each evening. Sometimes you may feel too tired to do it, so have face wipes available to wash your face quickly on evenings when it’s difficult to muster up the energy.
- Don’t pick at your face—and avoid touching it too.
It may be tempting to pop a blemish on your face, but touching your face with your fingers instead brings more dirt, bacteria, oil and other impurities directly to it. Popping a blemish creates redness and inflammation while opening your skin to bacteria. Plus, you can aggravate pores and cause scarring.
