Kybella – What to Expect

If you are unhappy, embarrassed or self-conscious by an accumulation of fat under your chin, or if you feel that this double chin (or submental fat, as is it known medically) is disrupting the way you want to look, Kybella® can help you regain the natural profile you used to have.
You may also want to consider this treatment if you do not want to undergo a surgical procedure, or if you eat well and exercise but are still unable to get rid of excess fat in this notoriously stubborn area. Dermatology Center of the Rockies has dedicated professionals who are fully-trained in the application of this injectable. Make an appointment to find out more and decide if it is right for you.
What is Kybella®?
Kybella® is an injectable used to treat moderate to severe fat accumulation under the chin. It is made from deoxycholic acid, a chemical that exists naturally in your body which helps with the absorption of fat. When it is injected subcutaneously, it permanently eliminates the fat cells it comes in contact with.
Why Should You Consider Kybella®?
You may have heard of people that have solved this problem through liposuction but, depending on the elasticity of your skin and your age, the procedure could leave you with loose skin. This may necessitate a second treatment to remove the excess skin. Kybella® offers you a proven, more cost-effective option to achieve the gradual decrease of chin fat. Plus, it doesn’t involve surgery!
How is the Treatment Applied?
The treatment is performed in the comfort of our office. During the appointment, the solution is skillfully injected into the area underneath your chin. We will determine how much product to apply and how many sessions you will need depending on the amount of fat under your chin and the desired profile you wish to achieve.
